Vatral® Sp System
The only tested
Fire protection system
Discover the Vatral® SP system and protect extinguishing water pipes with little space!
Tested safety through our own fire tests (F90)
Lowest insulation thicknesses from 50mm
Simple and seamless installation without thermal bridges
Extremely durable and easy to recycle
Passive fire protection must meet high standards
Densely built-up areas increasingly require the use of extinguishing water systems, whereby compliance with MVVTB and DIN 14462:2023-07 is essential.
With the Vatral® SP system, you also meet the fire protection requirements for coupled, clamped and pressed extinguishing water pipes with pipe wall thicknesses of
≥ 1.6mm. For “dry” extinguishing water pipes, functional integrity is also ensured after 90 minutes (F90) of fire exposure.
Fire-resistant protection
If extinguishing water pipes have to be routed "dry" through sections or rooms in which there are fire loads, these pipes must have fire-resistant cladding. This is not necessary in rooms in which the pipes are protected by an automatic extinguishing system (DIN 14462).
Tested and suitable
Press, clamp and plug connections in "dry" and "wet/dry" extinguishing water systems are only permitted if they are suitable for use and are suitable for use in dry sprinkler systems min. PN 16 in conjunction with the pipe used. (DIN 14462)
No pressure loss
The flow pressure must not fall below 0.45 MPa with a feed pressure of 0.8 MPa and simultaneous use of three tapping points (200 l/min each). The pressure difference between the extinguishing water supply and the most unfavorable tapping point must not exceed 0.1 MPa plus geodetic head loss.

Vatral® Sp-System: safety, redefined
The Vatral® humidity plateau
The Vatral® SP system contains up to 18% water bound in minerals, which is released from around 80°C in the event of fire. This makes the system fundamentally different from existing systems. This mode of operation makes it possible to keep the surface temperature on the clad pipe below 100°C for a long period of time during a fire. This means that EPDM seals in pipe connectors are also effectively protected against failure despite low insulation thicknesses.
Seamless insulation
Thanks to innovative production processes, precisely fitting fittings can be manufactured (also to customer specifications) for a wide range of pipe systems. All components of the Vatral® SP system are tested as a whole and comply with fire class A1L/A1 in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1:2019-05. When determining the 1000 °C melting point in accordance with DIN 4102-17:2017-12, 0.0% shrinkage can be observed. This means that even in the event of a fire, there are no defects due to shrinkage of the cladding.
Guaranteed tested
The Vatral® SP system is the only tested fire protection system for the cladding of "dry" extinguishing water pipes, also for clamped, pressed and coupled pipe systems, taking into account the seals in connectors. It meets the requirements of the new DIN 14462 (planning, installation, operation and maintenance of wall hydrant systems, above-ground and underground hydrant systems and "dry" extinguishing water systems). The system is also suitable for thin-walled steel and stainless steel pipes with U/A values >300.

Our fire tests
The function of the Vatral® SP system was proven by fire tests at the MPA Dresden and MPA NRW.
The functional integrity of pipe connectors was also confirmed after 90 minutes by means of a leak test (PN16).
Wall and ceiling penetrations were also tested and protected by the Vatral® SP system for a period of up to 120 minutes.

Areas of application
Extinguishing water pipes e.g. “dry”
processing
The entire pipe system is clad with Vatral SPS pipe shells, Vatral SPB pipe bends and Vatral SPF fittings. Areas that cannot be clad are filled with Vatral SPM mortar and then laminated.
